During the lecture portion of the workshop, we will discuss the history of traditional Coptic bindings and modern sympathetic techniques.

The instructor will introduce the standard language and vocabulary of the bookbinder and the trade. Bookbinding tools and materials will also be covered above and beyond the topic of Coptic bindings. All tools and materials are included in the cost of the workshop, including the decorative paper used for the covering material.
