Trine: Dance Church

An Ecstatic Dance Gathering for Erie

What if Sunday morning felt like freedom?

Trine: Dance Church is Erie’s new monthly ecstatic dance gathering: a space for movement, meditation, and community. No choreography. No talking on the dance floor. No performance. Just music, breath, and bodies moving freely.

This is a space to arrive exactly as you are.

Our Agreements

To keep this space accessible and safe for everyone:

  • Move however your body wants.

  • No talking on the dance floor.

  • No phones or photos.

  • Consent is essential.

  • This is a sober space.

  • Come as you are — all ages, identities, bodies, and abilities welcome.

We believe movement belongs to everyone. You don’t need to know how to dance. You just need a body.

Dates:

Doors at 10:45 AM

Dance begins at 11:11 AM

Wednesdays: July 29, August 26
Doors at 6:45 PM

Why Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic dance gatherings around the world offer something rare: a substance-free space to move, release, connect, and feel alive together. It’s part dance floor, part meditation hall, part community ritual.

In a time when so many of us feel isolated, overstimulated, or disconnected from our bodies, this is a return.

Accessibility + Inclusion

This space is committed to:

  • Welcoming BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and neurodivergent community members

  • Encouraging body neutrality and freedom from appearance-based judgment

  • Offering sliding scale pricing $10-20

  • Clear consent culture

  • Trauma-informed facilitation

If you have accessibility needs, please reach out in advance so we can support you - info@1020collective.com

Erie deserves spaces where we can move together in the daylight.

Come sweat.

Come pray (in whatever way that means to you).

Come rest.

Come dance.

NPAA Landscapes Opening Reception for our Collective Community Happy Hour

Join us to celebrate the NPAA’s newest exhibition: Landscapes as we bring the community together for our monthly Collective Community Happy Hour event. There will be snacks, drinks, and live music.

The Northwest Pennsylvania Artists Association’s Landscapes, Cityscapes and Seascapes will be on view in our second floor gallery August 20 - September 26 with the opening reception taking place on Thursday, August 20th during Collective Community - our monthly mixer for the creative crowd!

“True art lovers appreciate landscape. You can likely close your eyes and picture in your mind Van Gogh's Starry Night or the Giverny gardens of Monet. Sweeping vistas by the painters of the Hudson River School put American painting on the map. Edward Hopper's Nighthawks instantly transports viewers to a lonely street corner in what could be nearly any city in America. Winslow Homer somehow evoked the epic beauty and power of the ocean with a brush and a box of watercolors.

Erie has its own talented landscape artists, some of whom are nearly as legendary. If you frequent galleries around the tri-state area, you will know the work of Brad Lethaby, Adele Larson, Daniel Austin, Mary Hamilton, and Geoffry Dunn; all of whom are well known for their work depicting the great outdoors, and not coincidentally, are all members of Erie's professional artists' group, the Northwest Pennsylvania Artists Association (NPAA).”

— Bryan Toy

We are teaming up with The NPAA to fill our second floor gallery with marvelous paintings, photographs, sculptures, tapestries, and prints of scenes, both local and international. The Landscapes, Cityscapes and Seascapes exhibition opens on Thursday, August 20th in conjunction with our monthly social mixer for the creative crowd: Collective Community. Mingling with the artists is encouraged! A light repast will be provided. This beautiful show will hang through September 26.

Erie Gives Day: Raise the Bastion's Roof

Join us in raising the roof at The Bastion for Erie Gives Day. DONATE MIDNIGHT - MIDNIGHT HERE

You are invited to wander the building and donate to be apart of our Raise the Roof campaign.

We're hosting an Open House at The Bastion!

This year we are raising funds to continue renovations to the historic home turned art house, with all Erie Gives donations going towards stabilizing the roof. From 11am–2pm, The Bastion will be open for tours as we showcase the beauty and art that lives within the space.

Guests will also get to experience a brand-new collaborative mural inspired by Matisse, created by students from the Masters in the Making Summer Art Camp led by Jamie Keim-Pomorski and Sarah Moody. During the Open House, visitors will be invited to paint a shape (by donation) that will become part of the mural, leaving their own creative mark on The Bastion as part of Erie Gives Day.

Refreshments will be available as we welcome you to tour the building and learn more about how your donations will greatly impact our space.

If you’re especially eager to give and would prefer to donate now, you can make checks out to The 1020 Collective and send them to the Erie Community Foundation! As always, we thank you for your support and donation.
