this body of work examines relationships and patterns that i observe while studying my surroundings. i am inspired by lake erie and its highly intense or calming moods, which are often reflected in my work. i try to connect negative space and color loosely based on these moods and the tranquil/tumultuous seasons of the lake.

i seldom use paint brushes, and the feeling of paint on my fingers, touching my canvas, is very important to my process.

i created most of these paintings during a time of awakening that left me with the realization that i am where i am meant to be in every moment — especially the present. i came to the conclusion that “home” was wherever or with whomever that made me feel grounded and calm, and as a result, my curiosity, light, and imagination has flourished. i have found my inner radiance through my relationship to the land and the lake, amongst those that choose to walk with me.
